Amazing chocolate confections and treats. The chocolate dipped cookie dough bites and the salted chocolate brownie bites are worth driving many miles.

A very eclectic store that suits that heart of La Grange perfectly. Lots of a little rooms each with own little theme. Candies for sale, ice cream, lots of seating, and lots of random gifts strewn about. They tend to stress that they have five additional rooms upstairs, but we were kind of in a hurry, so we unfortunately had to skip. Very intrigued by their gourmet food products however.. Habanero Jelly, Carrot Cake Jam, Apple Salsa. Very tempting, but we had to scoot.

What a great find! We got off this highway exit because there was a sign for a Cracker Barrel = There has got to be more dining options other than a truck stop. Serendipity is like a Catching Fireflies (Rochester, Berkeley, MI) or Shine (Royal Oak, MI) with tables and a lunch menu. While you dine and after, Serendipity is full of knickknacks and jewelry. I ordered an iced tea and a chicken salad sandwich with a side of asparagus and pineapple. I'm not sure if my asparagus and pineapple is a Kentucky dish. A little strange, but delicious non the less. The chicken salad sandwich was amazing! Very fresh, light and refreshing. Oh, I almost forgot about the scone. Oh, the scone! The waitress brought us over 2 scones as appetizers. YUM. Expert tip: Do not shoplift! Per the homemade and frequently updated sign, they have busted 15 people this year!

This is one of those accidental finds you just can't get enough of! Nestled in the center of the La Grange Historic District, a small Kentucky town from the 1880's, now a mile off today's I-70 Freeway, is every bit quaint, adorable, and inviting. It's like walking into the middle America of yesteryear, but with AFFORDABLE artsy shops.

On a little R&R in Kentucky and stayed in LaGrange. On Main Street sits this shop. I was there close enough to Christmas that they already had it done up. I seriously felt like I'd walked into a fairy tale or maybe something in a Disney movie. This place was adorable!! I didn't try their sandwich menu or the ice cream, but did try some of their homemade truffles. I got the orange cream. To. Die. For. If you're in the area, stop and check this place out!
